The hull is the structure on which buoyancy depends. The hull can be divided into opera viv a or hull and dead work. The live work is the part immersed in water, and therefore it is the one most exposed to corrosive phenomena and oxidation of the metal parts, since sea water is an excellent electrolyte to trigger corrosion; for this reason it is necessary to protect the hulls with a cathodic protection provided by the zinc anodes. For best results, it is recommended to install anodes in the exact number and size expected by the boat designer. MTO Nautica, however, supports its customers by offering them also a consultancy and installation service, based on the material with which the hull is built and on the type of use of the boat, that is, if it is stationary in the port or if it has to leave at sea.
